Corsair Names New MD

Corsair Capital, an investor in the financial services industry, has promoted James Kirk to Managing Director.

Mr. Kirk has been a longtime investment professional at Corsair, serving as Principal since 2004 and as a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. Previously, Mr. Kirk was an investment banker in the healthcare group at J.P. Morgan from 2003 to 2004, where he advised on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising activities.

“Since joining us in 2004, James has made significant contributions to the firm and has become an invaluable member of the Corsair team,” said Ignacio Jayanti, Managing Partner at Corsair. “I am excited for him as he takes this next step, and I’m looking forward to all that he will accomplish in his new role.”

Mr. Kirk serves as a member of the Board of Directors or a board observer at two of Corsair’s portfolio companies—REPAY Holdings, which provides electronic transaction processing services for retailers (www.repayonline.com); and First Eagle Investment Management, an asset management firm (www.feim.com). Mr. Kirk has a BA in Economics from Princeton University.
