Guardian Adds-On to McCubbin

McCubbin Hosiery, a designer, manufacturer and distributor of hosiery, slippers and soft-soled footwear, has acquired the baby and toddler footwear brand Robeez from Stride Rite, a subsidiary of Wolverine World Wide. McCubbin Hosiery has been a portfolio company of Guardian Capital Partners since December 2013.

McCubbin Hosiery sells branded and private label socks, tights, slippers, leg warmers and infant soft sole shoes. The McCubbin Hosiery portfolio includes licensing rights from Stride Rite, Trumpette, Rosie Pope, Pendleton Woolen Mills, Tretorn, Yummie by Heather Thomson, and Free Country. The company’s products are sold through department stores, mass retailers, warehouse clubs, specialty stores and e-commerce channels. The Robeez product line is sold through a variety of retail channels including Nordstrom, Amazon, specialty stores and www.MyRobeez.com and www.MyRobeez.ca. “We’ve been working with the Robeez brand for several years and are thrilled to have the opportunity to acquire the brand, accelerate growth and connect with consumers on the global scale,” said David McCubbin, President of McCubbin Hosiery.

Guardian Capital Partners makes control investments in lower middle market private companies located primarily in the United States that have annual revenues between $20 million and $100 million.  Sectors of interest include consumer products, niche manufacturing and specialty business services.
