FTV Capital has promoted Brad Bernstein to managing partner. Mr. Bernstein will continue to lead the firm’s New York office and will be active investing in growth stage enterprise technology & services, and financial service companies. He will also assume additional management responsibilities alongside San Francisco-based FTV managing partner Richard Garman.
In 2002, Mr. Bernstein became involved with FTV Capital while working at Oak Hill Capital Management where he managed the business and financial services group. The two firms co-invested in ExlService, a business process outsourcing company serving the financial services industry. In 2003, he joined FTV to open and run the firm’s New York office.
“Brad’s domain expertise, private equity track record and leadership skills have been instrumental to FTV’s evolution into a leading growth equity firm,” said Mr. Garman. “This promotion to managing partner is in recognition of his many accomplishments and key role in building FTV over the last 13 years. I look forward to ongoing collaboration with Brad as FTV continues to execute our differentiated growth equity strategy with the goal of delivering strong returns to our limited partners.”
Mr. Bernstein has lead numerous investments over the years including: MarketShare, a marketing analytics firm (acquired by Neustar in 2015 for $450 million); Globant, an IT development and services provider (IPO in July 2014); MuSigma, a data analytics outsourcing firm (acquired by shareholders in 2012); ExlService, a business process solutions company (IPO in 2006); and Castle Pines Capital, a provider of financing services to resellers in the technology industry (acquired by Wells Fargo in 2011).
Mr. Bernstein began his private equity career with Patricof & Company Ventures and started his professional career in the investment banking division of Merrill Lynch. He has a BA from Tufts University.
Founded in 1998, FTV Capital has invested in 90 portfolio companies and has raised over $1.8 billion across four funds. The firm has offices in San Francisco and New York (www.ftvcapital.com).
