Investment bank Signal Hill has hired Daniel Graves as a Managing Director. Mr. Graves will join the firm’s sponsor coverage group and will be based in New York.
“Dan has a long-established track record of success with media companies and financial sponsors. He has a well-deserved reputation for building and sustaining client relationships, which is the backbone of our business,” said Scott Wieler, Chairman and CEO of Signal Hill. “We’re excited to have him on board.”
Signal Hill is an advisory boutique serving the following sectors: internet & digital media, internet infrastructure, services and software. The firm has offices in Baltimore, Bangalore, Boston, Mumbai, Nashville, New York, Reston and San Francisco (www.signalhill.com).
Prior to joining Signal Hill, Mr. Graves founded Spinnaker Capital Advisors (SCA), an advisory firm focused on middle market media companies. During his 11 years of operating SCA, Mr. Graves participated in more than $650 million of merger, acquisition, capital raising and financial advisory transactions.
“The M&A market for traditional media companies is rapidly evolving. Clients and financial sponsors need advisors that, while maintaining focus on the underlying traditional media business that fuels new media growth, combine the execution capability and transaction experience to deliver results in the current environment,” said Mr. Graves. “I’m excited to join the established platform and the growing team at Signal Hill, and look forward to delivering successful outcomes for our clients.”
Before he founded SCA in 2004, Mr. Graves was a media investment banker at Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, and Salomon Brothers.
