Berkshire Partners has appointed Samantha Adams and Thomas Kuo as new managing directors.
With the promotions of Ms. Adams and Mr. Kuo, the managing directors of Berkshire now number 24 and have an average tenure of 16 years with the firm. Berkshire’s staff has a range of backgrounds and experiences, including operations, consulting and finance. The original team – which came together in the mid-1980s – has expanded significantly as the firm’s capital base and investment scope have grown.
Ms. Adams joined Berkshire in 2012 as Director of Talent Management. Prior to joining Berkshire, Ms. Adams held various positions at Bank of America, Hill Holiday Advertising, Discovery Health Channel and Bain & Co. She has an AB from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Mr. Kuo joined Berkshire Partners in 2007 and has experience with Berkshire’s business services, industrial and transportation companies. Prior to joining Berkshire, Mr. Kuo was in the private equity industry for several years, holding positions at General Atlantic and Goldman Sachs. He has an AB from Harvard College and an MBA from Stanford Business School.
Berkshire Partners invests from $50 million to $500 million of equity capital in mid-sized companies operating in the following sectors: consumer products and retail, business services, industrials, communications, and transportation.
