Colleen Gurda Joins Comvest Partners

comvest nf5Comvest Partners has hired Colleen Gurda as the firm’s newest Vice President. Ms. Gurda will join Comvest’s direct lending group, Comvest Capital, and will be responsible for assisting with business development, sourcing and assessing investment opportunities, and underwriting.

Colleen Gurda nf1Prior to joining Comvest, Ms. Gurda spent five years at Alcentra Capital, a provider of subordinated debt and equity capital to middle market companies. She was responsible for origination, transaction execution, due diligence, and the monitoring of portfolio companies. Before her time at Alcentra, Ms. Gurda was with the Healthcare Investment Banking group at Barclays Capital. Ms. Gurda received her BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and her MBA from Columbia Business School.

Comvest Partners provides debt and equity to middle-market companies. For debt investments the firm will invest from $2 million to $20 million per transaction in companies with $10 million to $200 million of revenue that have positive or negative EBITDA. For equity investments the firm will invest from $25 million to $100 million of equity per transaction in companies with $15 million to $500 million of revenue that have positive or negative EBITDA.

In October 2015, Comvest Partners held a final close of its fifth private equity fund, Comvest Investment Partners V, with $893 million in total capital commitments. The capital commitments consist of $850 million from limited partners at the hard cap, plus a commitment of $43 million from the general partner and various affiliates.  Fund V follows Comvest Investment Partners IV which closed in 2010 with $582 million in capital commitments.
