Irving Place Capital has appointed Carlos Cardoso as a new Senior Advisor to the firm. Mr. Cardoso will be responsible for identifying and pursuing manufacturing and distribution investments in the industrial sector.

Mr. Cardoso was formerly Chairman and CEO of Kennametal, a maker of metalworking tools. Mr. Cardoso spent more than a decade at Kennametal, the last nine years of which he served as CEO. As CEO, he more than doubled profitability and actively diversified the business mix, market reach and end-market exposure of the company. Prior to Kennametal, he held executive roles at Flowserve and Honeywell.
