BSN Medical, a portfolio company of EQT Partners, has acquired FarrowMed, a developer and manufacturer of compression garments used in the treatment of a variety of medical conditions.
FarrowMed is a wholesale manufacturer of compression garments for the treatment of lymphedema (swelling in an arm or leg caused by a lymphatic system blockage) and edema related conditions (excess watery fluid collecting in the cavities or tissues of the body). The company was founded in 2005 by physicians Wade Farrow and Barry Creighton and is headquartered northwest of Houston in Bryan, TX (www.farrowmed.com).
BSN Medical, acquired by EQT Partners in 2012 from Montagu Private Equity, is a maker and seller of products used in wound care and related vascular diseases, lymphology and non-invasive orthopaedic products. Founded in 2001, the company has approximately 5,500 employees and generated revenues of €762 million in 2014. BSN Medical is headquartered in Hamburg, Germany (www.bsnmedical.com).
