Sorenson Capital Hires Intel Capital Tech Pro

sorenson nf4Sorenson Capital has hired Rob Rueckert, formerly a managing director at Intel Capital, to expand its technology practice within the firm.

“Bringing Rob on board signifies our plans to further increase our focus on additional tech-based, growth investment opportunities across new and emerging sectors,” said Fraser Bullock, founder and managing director of Sorenson Capital. “Rob has a unique ability to identify profitable investments while mitigating risk. He has a perfect mix of operational experience combined with a technical background. He will be an instrumental member of the leadership team as we continue to expand our presence in the growth-tech sector.”

Rob Rueckert nf1At Intel Capital, Mr. Rueckert invested in more than 50 companies across multiple technology sectors and geographies. He was the managing director for Intel’s new devices and wearables group and was responsible for identifying potential investments, hiring management teams and assisting in the growth of those companies. Mr. Rueckert also managed more than 20 exits from Intel’s portfolio, including Accentify, which was acquired by American Express, and Perceptive Pixel, which was acquired by Microsoft.

Prior to joining Intel Capital, Mr. Rueckert worked as a technology consultant for Arthur Andersen and has worked for several companies in executive roles. He has an MBA from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in information systems from Brigham Young University.

Sorenson Capital invests from $10 million to $40 million in small to middle-market buyout and growth equity opportunities with a particular focus on companies located in the Mountain and Western regions of the US.
