Odyssey Investment Partners has entered into an agreement to sell its portfolio company Ranpak Holdings, a provider of paper-based protective packaging, to Rhône Capital. The transaction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2014. Odyssey acquired Ranpak in December 2007.
Ranpak is a manufacturer of in-the-box paper protective packaging systems and materials. The company’s patented Padpak and Fillpak converters utilize multi-ply roll or single-ply fanfold kraft paper to create on-demand packaging material. Ranpak’s customers are typically OEM’s and distributors operating in the industrial, automotive, medical, consumer products and technology industries. In addition to its headquarters in Concord Township, OH, Ranpak operates four manufacturing facilities located in Nevada, Kansas, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands.
