GI Partners Names Roy Kelvin as Chief Financial Officer

roy kelvin nf2GI Partners has hired Roy Kelvin as its new Chief Financial Officer.  Prior to joining GI Partners, Mr. Kelvin served as the Chief Financial Officer of Vector Capital.

“Roy is a key addition to our experienced team,” said Rick Magnuson, Founder and Executive Managing Director of GI Partners.  “Roy has extensive finance, accounting, and managerial experience that will help to further enhance our very robust accounting and reporting infrastructure and build on our strong relationships with our investors. His leadership will also enable GI to continue to advance our high compliance standards and adapt to the additional regulatory focus on our industry. We look forward to Roy playing a significant role as we continue to grow our firm.”

Prior to his time at Vector Capital, Mr. Kelvin served as Chief Financial Officer of the New York-based private equity firm Zephyr Management. He also worked in senior finance and operations roles in the private equity and emerging markets divisions of Wasserstein Perella.

Cary Anderson, GI’s previous Chief Financial Officer, is leaving the firm to pursue other opportunities.  “In his ten years at GI Partners, Cary has helped us elevate the firm’s finance, compliance, and investor reporting functions and we want to thank him for his contributions and wish him success in his new endeavors,” said Mr. Magnuson.

GI Partners invests from $50 million to $250 million in companies with enterprise values of $100 million to $750 million.  Sectors of interest include IT infrastructure & services; healthcare services; leisure & retail; and financial & real estate services.  Since founding, GI has managed $10 billion across four private equity funds and invested in 38 platform investments.
