The Watermill Group Adds Middle Market Dealmaker

The Watermill Group has hired John Carr as a new Principal. Mr. Carr will work on the evaluation, due diligence and execution of new investments and will support operating initiatives for Watermill’s portfolio companies.

Mr. Carr has 10 years of experience spanning private equity, investment banking, consulting and operations improvement. He joins Watermill from Lionheart Ventures, where he served as a vice president responsible for business development, deal analysis, deal execution and portfolio company improvement projects. Previously, Mr. Carr worked at Goldman Sachs, Gomez Inc., JPMorgan and Stroud Consulting.

The Watermill Group invests in manufacturing, value-added distribution, and business services companies that have $40 million to $500 million of revenue and up to $25 million in EBITDA. Sectors of interest include aerospace; automotive and heavy truck; building products and services; chemicals; energy and energy services; food products and services; industrial distribution and services; metals; paper and packaging; and rubber and plastics. With the addition of Mr. Carr as Principal, the Watermill team now numbers 13 people, including six partners and two other principals, Michael Fuller and Julia Karol.
