Avista Capital Partners has promoted Jackson Phillips and Rob Girardi to Principals of the firm. Both Mr. Phillips and Mr. Girardi were Vice Presidents.
Mr. Phillips was one of Avista’s first Associates, joining Avista at its founding in 2005 and later rejoining the firm in 2009 as a Vice President after attending business school at Wharton. Before joining Avista, Mr. Phillips was an investment professional at DLJ Merchant Banking Partners. Prior to DLJ, Mr. Phillips worked as an Analyst in JPMorgan’s Investment Banking Division. Mr. Phillips received a BS from the University of North Carolina and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Girardi joined Avista as a Vice President in 2010. Before joining Avista, Mr. Girardi was a Senior Associate at Quadrangle Group where he focused on private equity investments in the media and communications industries. Prior to joining Quadrangle, Mr. Girardi was an Associate at Bear Stearns Merchant Banking where he focused on private equity investments across a range of industries. He also worked as an Analyst in investment banking at J.P. Morgan. Mr. Girardi received a BS in business administration from the University of North Carolina and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
