Investment bank Lincoln International has hired Damon McLaren as a new Director in its Financial Sponsors Group. Mr. McLaren will be based in Lincoln International’s Los Angeles office and he will be responsible for strengthening the firm’s relationships with financial sponsors on the West Coast.
In his new post, Mr. McLaren will work with Lincoln‘s industry and product bankers to provide M&A, capital raising, restructuring and valuation and opinion services. Lincoln International has completed over 300 transactions globally over the past three years, many on behalf of financial sponsor clients.
“Adding Damon further enhances our ability to provide world-class advice to our financial sponsor clients,” said Jim Lawson, Chairman of Lincoln International. “We have strategically built a Financial Sponsors Group over the past few years. With Damon, we now have five dedicated senior officers, supported by a staff of junior bankers, located and deeply integrated in each of our three US offices: Chicago, Los Angeles and New York.”
Mr. McLaren joins Lincoln International from Wells Fargo Securities, where he led the firm’s coverage of middle-market financial sponsors on the West Coast. He worked at Wells Fargo Securities and its predecessor, Barrington Associates, for over 13 years. During that period, he managed and executed numerous M&A transactions across a variety of sectors.
“Damon is exactly what we were looking for and financial sponsors want in a coverage banker. He has extensive deal experience, deep knowledge and contacts with private equity, knows how to develop long-term relationships, and proactively develops value-added ideas,” said Rob Barr, CEO of North America. “Damon will be instrumental in leveraging Lincoln International’s capabilities, knowledge and deal flow to help our West Coast financial sponsor clients find, finance and monetize their investments.”
With the addition of Mr. McLaren, the Lincoln International Los Angeles office now has a staff of ten investment bankers. “We are pleased to have a talented person with great relationships like Damon joining our team,” said Chris Petrossian, Managing Director and Head of the Los Angeles office. “Lincoln International is highly committed to continuing to build our presence on the West Coast and growing our Los Angeles office. Damon is the second senior banker we hired in our Los Angeles office this year, following Alex Stevenson, who joined our Special Situations Group as a Managing Director in April.”
Lincoln International specializes in merger and acquisition advisory services, debt advisory services, private capital raising and restructuring advice on mid-market transactions. The firm also provides fairness opinions, valuations and pension advisory services on a wide range of transaction sizes. Lincoln International has 15 offices in the Americas, Asia and Europe and is headquartered in Chicago (www.lincolninternational.com).
