Investment banking firm Berenson & Company has hired Dean Asofsky as a new Managing Director. Mr. Asofsky joins the firm to further build its advisory activities, with a particular focus on expanding Berenson’s execution capabilities and relationships across the converging technology, media, telecom and entertainment spaces.

Mr. Asofsky was most recently at GCA Savvian, where he was a Managing Director and the senior M&A professional in the New York office, leading transactions primarily in the technology and media sectors. Before GCA Savvian, he was at Credit Suisse, where he held a number of roles in the M&A group, including as Head of US Takeover Defense, and in the Multi-Product Event Trading Group as a risk/merger arbitrageur. Prior to Credit Suisse, he was in the M&A Group at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Asofsky started his professional career as an attorney at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. Mr. Asofsky earned his JD from the New York University School of Law and his AB in History from Cornell University.
