Balance Point Names Justin Kaplan as Partner

kaplan nfBalance Point Capital Partners has named Justin Kaplan as a new Partner. For the past nine years, Mr. Kaplan has worked at BNY Mellon Alcentra Mezzanine Partners where he was responsible for transaction sourcing, deal execution and the monitoring of portfolio companies.

“Justin’s background and expertise in providing debt and equity financing to companies in our target market is a great fit with Balance Point,” said Managing Partner Seth Alvord. “His industry exposure, analytical experience and strong relationships will be invaluable as we continue to deploy capital in support of companies and management teams across the lower middle market. We are very excited to have him join our partnership.”

Mr. Kaplan began his career in the investment banking group of Veronis Suhler Stevenson. Previously, he was a principal at Marlin & Associates, a boutique investment bank focused on the media and communications sectors. Mr. Kaplan has a BA from Cornell University.

Balance Point Capital Partners invests from $3 million to $15 million of mezzanine and equity in lower middle market companies that have revenues of $10 million to $150 million and EBITDAs between $2 million and $20 million. Sectors of interest include business services, niche manufacturing, consumer & industrial, branded products, aerospace & defense, healthcare, and technology.
