Richard deNey Joins Roth as Head of Technology Investment Banking

ROTH Capital Partners, a full service investment bank focused on identifying growth opportunities for corporate and institutional clients, today announced the appointment of Richard deNey as Managing Director and Head of Technology Investment Banking.

“Rick’s extensive expertise in the Technology and IT Services sectors will reinforce our firm’s deep domain expertise in capital transactions and advisory services for emerging technology leaders,” said Byron Roth, Chairman and CEO of ROTH Capital Partners. “Having closed 144 M&A transactions with a total value of $13.6 billion under his previous leadership role, Rick brings outstanding credentials that will help us drive the expansion of our M&A advisory services practice.”

Mr. deNey joins ROTH from Needham & Company where he was a Managing Director and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for the past eight years. Mr. deNey began his investment banking career in the M&A Group of First Boston Corporation where he was involved in a number of high profile and complex transactions. He later worked as a Managing Director at both Bankers Trust and Bear Stearns where he led cross border M&A and advised leading private equity firms on both M&A and public equity underwritings. Prior to joining Needham, Mr. deNey was SVP, Strategy and Development at EDS and Chief Strategy and Development Officer at Scient. He holds a BES in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
